Next Meeting:

• The next WHO meeting will be held on June 24th at Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, 444 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford NY

Club picnic:

• The annual WHO/NYCHG picnic is Saturday, July 13th at Croton Point Park. An email was sent to the club. Send a note to the club if you need the info but here are the main things to know:
- Time – 10AM til dark
- Registration – strongly recommended. Discounts for club members / pre-registered guests / and for payments made through PayPal. Also you can register to help with various responsiblities on the day of the picnic.
- Pickup – available from Metro North for trains arriving 9:58 & 10:28. Taxi available for those taking later trains.
- Kid friendly? – Sure! Free entry for those under 10.

Last month’s meeting:
For our May meeting the club returned to Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. A judging was held using California Common Lager brewed by club members Ken, Chris, and Ed, for the purpose of a comparative discussion on the differences that fermentation temperatures and mash temperatures can have on extract and all-grain brews. Results will be presented and discussed at the June meeting.

Upcoming meetings/topics: Unless otherwise noted, volunteers are needed to lead the discussion sessions.

Jul 2013- Mead Day Meeting to correspond with the AHA’s August 4th Mead Day.
Aug 2013-TBD. WHO’s entry for European Amber Lager AHA CoC to be selected at this meeting.

Special Announcement:

May 2014 - – - WHO will be hosting an AHA Club-Only Competition! This will consist of BJCP category 12 (Porter) as well as anything from 20, 21, and 23 (Fruit, Spice/Herb/Veg, Specialty) that uses Porter as the base style.
